I have gone past this old town house many, many times but have never gone inside. The Han Chin Pet Soo built in 1893 in Ipoh old town have been restored and is now open for visitors.
From what I have read, it retains much of its original interior, which until 2013 was only privy to members of the Hakka Club, originally the Han Chin Tin Miners’ Club run by mining magnate, Leong Fee. The two storey shop house is located at 3 Jalan Bijeh Timah or formerly known as Treacher Street. It is acutally a short walk from Concubine Lane.
This coming weekend I intend to visit the villa with Lai Yoong and Aunty Linda. Will post pictures of the inside to share with you.
