This morning, some of the students from my college went to an Islamic Centre to carry out
community service. There are orphans and senior citizens at this centre. Kamariah, Khairah, Baz and I were the teachers who accompanied them. The boys and girls were divided into groups and given tasks like clearing blocked drains, weeding, pruning, cleaning the compound and housekeeping for the old folks who stay at the centre. Baz and I helped with the gardening. This is a nice break from teaching in the classroom and at the same time, my friends and I get to perform community service.
