EATING NOODLES FOR ONES BIRTHDAY

The Chinese are a Kiasu lot and that is why symbolism plays an important role in their everyday lives.  During birthdays, they would eat noodles to signify longevity. 
Amir's dad bought noodles for us to celebrate his son's birthday when we were there yesterday.  I wonder if it is a coincidence or if he knows about eating noodles to symbolise a long life.
