MAKING A WISH FOR AUNTIE LI NA'S BOOK

I had asked Amir's dad, Ishak, if I could have an early birthday celebration for the little boy who will turn 7 in early August as I wanted to take a photo to send to the publisher.  As I had mentioned in an earlier post, the photos in the previous draft were not up to mark and also it would make the price of the book costly.  So I suggested to remove all the photos and only have one for each chapter and had promised to come up with the photos.  Unfortunately my mum became ill and I could not snap the photos until this week.
Actually, Amir's Chinese birth date coincides with that of Kuan Yin which falls on July 19.  His dad suggested Wednesday evening as they would be free since Amir did not have a religious class at that time.
I got this very pleasant surprise when I checked my email on Monday night.  This was the message I got from the publisher.

Hi,
We have redesigned the book without pictures. Only included some pictures at the beginning of each chapter and a few inside text. We have printed the hard copy and please confirm your address before we send it to you.
Thanks.

Heh! Heh!  That means that they have gone and finished the book.  Kee! Kee! Kee!  What to do?  I had already made arrangements with Ishak and Amir.  I surely wouldn't want to disappoint a little boy as the little fella was very excited when I said I was going to celebrate his birthday with him.  So I went ahead and bought Amir a cake and went with Kamariah to celebrate with him.
Before he blew out the candles in his cake, I made Amir wish that Auntie Li Na's book would be published very soon and that many copies will be sold.  Let's hope that this little boy's wish will come true.  Hu Hu Hu.
