For the past few days, the Chinese dailies in Malaysia have been reporting on the funeral of a certain Mr Chu. Why all the interest in him? Actually the late Mr Chu is not the figure in contention, rather the person the press is interested in is none other than Hong Kong superstar, Andy Lau Tak Wah.
During the funeral procession, there was a man being hidden from view by guys using big silver umbrellas. That particular man was walking in the place where the son-in-law was supposed to walk. To me and I guess many others, this seems to be a rather ridiculous and silly exercise. Why must someone go to all this to prevent others from finding out his identity?
Actually for many, many years there has been rumours circulating around that Andy was involved with Mr Chu's beautfiful daughter, Carol. It seems that the relationship has been going on for 24 years (yeah! that long) and that the two have a daughter (and maybe a son). However, Andy has maintained that he was unattached. There have been stories that the two registered their marriage either in Canada or Malaysia some years ago but until now the son-in-Lau has never acknowledged it.
The latest news that I read that Andy has sort of acknowledged Mr Chu as his forefather in his blog. If he is really involved with the said lady, then for goodness sake make an honest woman out of her and let Mr Chu's soul rest in peace. To read more, please click here.
