I remember when I went to Hong Kong some time back, I had asked the tourist guide where were the leng chai 靚仔 and leng lui 靚女 (pretty girls and guys) like the ones I watched on the Cantonese drama series. And know what was his answer? He said, "The pretty girl is here" (靚女喺處), pointing to me. Actually, many of my friends and relatives who have gone and visited many eastern Asian countries also found that the people that they find on the streets are very similar to the ones we have here. The beautiful people don't go walking the streets and they are not in the majority. And now, I have found that even some of the beautiful people whose perfect looks and shapely bodies have gotten us going ga-ga might also be the result of the skills of some plastic surgeons in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan or Singapore.
