My late Aunt May was born in a small town in Perak called Tanjung Tualang. Recently while I was watching an advert for Visit Malaysia Year, I saw the Tualang Tree (Koompassia excelsa (Becc.) Taub.) being featured. Like my hometown, Ipoh, this small town was most probably named after this very tall tree. As a matter of fact the Tualang is one of the tallest tree species.
