START OF 9 EMPEROR GODS FESTIVAL

 It is that time of year when I go on a vegetarian diet for 9 days in honour of the 9 Emperor Gods.  The 9 Emperor Gods festival starts today and will go on for another 9 days.
Yesterday, I went to the Tow Boh Keong Temple in Ipoh to buy Ang Ku or Tortoise shaped buns as offerings to the deities.

 I bought one medium sized yellow bun for RM8.

 The smaller tortoise buns which are either yellow or pink are sold at RM1.30 each.  I chose those without Chinese characters printed on them as I am thinking of decorating them myself.
