PLUM MANGO (BUAH KUNDANG)

In Malay this fruit is called buah kundang or kemior.  For those who want to know more, the mouthful of a scientific name is Bouea oppositifolia (Roxb.) Adelb.   I am sure that not many in Malaysia would identify it by its English name of Plum Mango.  If you go around the market or Pasar Tani and ask for Plum Mango, people would just stare at you or at best they'd ask you to go check at the supermarket. If you think of the taste of an yellow sweet plum, that's about right for the taste and texture of this fruit.

What I do before eating is to wash the fruit carefully with clean water (yeah, I am now a bit paranoid when it comes to water coming out of taps) and you can eat the skin like other plums.  Some people, remove the skin and eat only the inside part.
