When I went back to school after the year end holidays, my friends Kamariah and Asiah mentioned that my face looked rounder and I seemed to have put on some weight. On hearing this, I was determined to get rid of the excess fat I had accumulated through overindulgence and also lack of exercise. I wasn't going to tolerate being called pudgy. Yikes! That really freaks me out.
To serve as a reminder for me not to keep going to the fridge to get the snacks from there, I put up a picture of Korean actor, Jang Geun Suk with a cuddly fat baby. I read that he managed to lose 8 kilogrammes of weight for his role in a drama called, "Marry me, Mary". I figured that if this young man could lose weight, so could I.
Besides my fridge, I also used the same picture of the young man and baby as the screensaver for my computer at home and in school to remind me not to have second helpings at the school canteen for breakfast and lunch. Know what? Besides serving as a catalyst for me to lose weight, I did not realise that that particular picture that I put up would also be a source of amusement for me. Amusement? Yup. You see, my friends Kamariah, Asiah and Roslina all thought that I had put up a picture of a young mother with her baby. I was laughing hysterically when they mentioned to me that the baby had a beautiful mother. They were shocked when I told them the person that they thought was the mother of the baby was actually a male.
They were not the only ones to mistake the gender of Jang Geun Suk. On Tuesday, the Telecoms technician who came to repair my Internet connection said that the picture was of me and my baby. Ha! Ha! When I told him, the person in the picture was much younger, the man said that she was my sister. Hmm ... come to think of it, my sister does look as beautiful as Jang Geun Suk. Now do you agree that the picture above is a source of amusement for me.
