Before I came back to Ipoh to celebrate the Lunar New Year with my family, I made sure I fully stocked my refrigerator in my house in Sitiawan. It is actually taboo to leave ones fridge and kitchen cabinet empty or half filled with food as this symbolises that there is either no food or not enough food for the days ahead.
Since I eat a lot and can't really go hungry, I made sure that I had enough in the fridge and my cabinet to assure me food and drinks aplenty for the year ahead.
