I was told that it is a traditional Chinese practice to buy a set of bowl, chopsticks and spoon for the lunar new year as it symbolises wealth, abundance and prosperity for the year ahead. Using a rice bowl represents never ending supply of food and also stability in ones career.
This is the first time that I have bought a set for the new year as this is something new to me. You see, there are so many Chinese traditions that I do not know about. Hmm ... there is indeed a lot more things that I need to learn about.
