THE NEW YEAR IS COMING ...

The shops and departmental stores are all adorned with Chinese New Year decorative items such as lanterns, ornamental gold nuggets, miniature lions, fake firecrackers and rabbit symbols. In places with a high density of Chinese people, the shops and departmental stores would be aglow with the auspicious colours of red and gold which are symbolic of riches and good fortune.
The above pictures are representative of the sight that caught my eyes after I had dinner with Lai Yoong at a restaurant last night.  Actually, the Ten Ten shop had been in business for about a year but both of us have not been there until Sunday night.  There were a lot of festive things on sale and we had a gala time looking at them.  We made a few purchases as the prices were rather reasonable.
