OFFERINGS OF ROAST PIGS

In Taoism, devotees would give offerings of Roast Pigs 燒豬 to the deities as thanksgiving.  At the celebration of the Jade Emperor last Saturday, Lai Yoong counted 12 Roast pigs being offered when we were there. The two of us later went to another temple to pray while my mum stayed behind.  She told us that another devotee brought another Roast Pig, making the number 13.
The Roast Pigs would be cut later on and the devotees who brought them would be given the head and tail.  The rest would be served to those who come to pray in the evening.
