KAFFIR LIME LEAVES @ DAUN LIMAU PURUT

Yahoo. New shoots have sprouted from the kaffir lime tree that the gardeners helped me to cut two weeks ago. This is one gardening tip I learnt when I first took over the herb garden in 2006. To save plants that are dying we need to cut away the ailing parts to make room for regeneration.

Besides using the leaves as an ingredient for cooking tom yam, they  are used to cleanse the mind and the body and ward off evil spirit.

The fruit is not as extensively used as are the leaves. However, the juice of the fruit is good for healthy gums It has bleaching properties and when mixed with detergent can fight the toughest stains The rind of the fruit is used in many digestive tonics and blood purifiers.

The aroma of the leaves is rejuvenating; add a few drops of oil or a few crushed leaves to your bath and you will feel your negative thoughts ease away It is believed to have a positive effect on the mind and the body and leaves one with positive thoughts
