Many, many moons ago when I was a child, lanterns made from transparent paper was the norm. i would request for a dragon each year from my parents. Nowadays, these type of lanterns are not in great demand anymore. The parents prefer to buy lanterns made from plastic with lights powered by batteries. The world has gone hi-tech.
