DISCUSSING AND PLANNING ACTIVITIES FOR LIBRARY RAMADAN PROGRAMME

For this year's month of Ramadan I had planned an exhibition with the theme "Ramadan: A Month of Good Deeds" (Ramadan: Bulan Amal Ma'arof) for the library.  At the exhibition corner, my assistant and I had selected Islamic books that are relevant to the theme and placed them there. In this way, we hope to promote the books, provide more information about what are considered good deeds to do during Ramadan and also to encourage the students to embrace the habit of doing good all the time and not only during this month.
Besides the books, my committee and I have also planned activities like collecting donations to buy Raya clothing for the orphans and needy and also visiting old folks.
I went to see Ustaz Syed Sharim this morning to discuss the schedule for visiting the old folks at the Manabi'ul Ulum Religious Centre and also to bring the 17 orphans and 7 needy children to shop for their festive clothes.  The ustaz will also be helping me out to produce a pamphlet for the themed exhibition. Hopefully, it will be ready by next Thursday.
Next Monday, the Islamic Cultural Club (Kelab Seni Budaya Islam) will be visiting the religious centre to break fast with the old folks, orphans, needy children and the students there.  I have been invited to go along to take pictures.
On the 1st of August, the religious centre will hold a breaking fast dinner for all those who have given contributions.  From what I know, some generous people are sponsoring all the meals for the breaking of fast at the centre.
