HABA NERAKA (HELL'S HEAT)

The lallang looking plant above is called Haba Neraka (Neomarica longifolia) or when translated into English, Hell's Heat.  It actually has no nutritious properties. As a matter of fact, it might trigger a miscarriage in a pregnant lady who goes near it and inhales the spores from this plant.   This plant should not be planted in ones garden as ladies who go near it daily might have heavy menstrual flow.  Young ladies exposed to the plant regularly might find difficulty in conceiving later on in life.  Perhaps that is why the reference to hell.
