As both my late parents suffered from diabetes and hypertension, the food that was served at home had less salt and sugar. As a result of this type of diet, I sort of got used to not eating food that is too salty or sweet.
That was why I abandoned my plate of fried spaghetti after taking one spoonful as it was way too salty for my taste buds.
I read somewhere that research has it that when we grow older we have less taste buds and that there is a tendency to add more salt or sugar to our food. In that case, I think I am growing younger and not older. Kee! Kee! Kee!

me too. we've family history, so refrain from too saltish & sweetish food. so much so, used to the circumstances, outside food does not appeal to me. if too saltish, my heart will go palpitating (don knw correct word or not), and too sweetish will leave sourish taste and the side of the tongue.
So I am not alone.
