TORN AND TATTERED CLOTHINGS

The young man above was repairing one of the air conditioners in my college when the above photographs were taken.  What caught my attention was his torn and tattered jeans.  I had asked him if he had accidentally torn them while working but was told by him that it was fashionable.
Aiyoh!  To traditionalist Chinese, wearing torn clothings is taboo because it brings bad feng shui. Wearing tattered and torn clothing attracts poverty energy, which often brings about bad luck.
