TELUK BATIK SNORKELLING PARK: A PLACE THAT HAS SEEN BETTER DAYS

Yesterday, Kamariah and I were looking for some spots in Teluk Batik resort to carry out some motivation activities for our students.  We chanced upon the Snorkeling Park which was within the vicinity.  This is the gateway into the place.

One is greeted by a giant octopus perched on top of a building at the entrance.
The place is actually known as Notti World since it not only offers Snorkelling but canoeing and fishing activities.
The main entrance into the Snorkelling Park.
Me stepping on a Crab image.
Posing in front of the Snorkelling Pool.

There is not much water inside this mini pool.  The caretaker said they'd pump sea water into it.  The paint of the sculptures had faded.
Since Kama and I went on a Tuesday, the place was deserted.
Me posing in front of a sculpture of a giant whale.

The Burmese caretaker feeding the fish.
Look harder and you'll see the fish.
The holiday chalet above is run down and not in use anymore.

The place where the googles and life jackets are kept.

Kamariah taking a look at the canoes on the pond.  The canoes looks old.

I did a search on the Internet and found out that the Snorkelling Park which was touted as the first inland snorkeling facility in the word was opened about four years ago.  Then it was well-kept and had many visitors.  The place that Kamariah and I visited on Tuesday was a sorry site with dirty pools and also some of the sculptures could do with a new coat of paint.  What a waste!   I wouldn't bring my friends or relatives here should they visit me.
Here is the link to the Snorkelling Park which is also known as Notti World.  Link
Here are some pictures (that I got from the Internet) of the Snorkeling Park in its heydays.
