During festivals and special occasions, I would light a lotus candle at the temple. In
Buddhism, the Lotus is regarded as the Holy flower. Therefore, prayers and well wishes are
made by lighting these lotus candles and placing them in the altar to pay respect to Buddha.
Sometimes, when one of my family members, relatives or friends is ill or is encountering
some problems, I will also light a candle on their behalf.
