TRADITIONAL MALAY HERBAL BATH

I am one person who when talking about herbs can go on and on.  For the past few days, I have been talking about the goodness of Floral Baths or Mandi Bunga.  For a change, I'd like to write about Herbal Baths.
Actually it doesn't really cost much to have a herbal bath if you do it at home.  It'd cost a bomb if you go to a spa.  If you have your own herb garden, it would be even better.  If not buying herbs from the market is also relatively inexpensive.
If possible, get herbs in their natural state as they are fresh and also one can bruise or crush them when it is time to be place in the bath.
A Herbal Bath containing traditional herbs is relaxing.  It helps to bring forth a sense of calm.
Herbs that are normally used in traditional Malay herbal baths are lemon grass (serai), guava leaves and kaffir lime leaves (daun limau purut). Actually, whatever leaves of plants where the fruits can be eaten can be used as an ingredient for the herbal bath, e.g. mengkudu, banana leaves, starfruit leaves and daun kunyit.  If you are thinking of having a traditional herbal bath, here are some other leaves that you can use, gandarusa, neem, pandanus and bonglai. Besides leaves, one can also use halba, kunyit and ginger. These help to rid the body of wind. The herbs are freshly boiled and mixed with bath water.
