When I got the sms alert at about 6.00 p.m. about 20 orphans who were believed to be buried alive at the Persatuan Anak-anak Yatim Malaysia (PYMA) orphanage in Hulu Langat at about 2.30pm yesterday afternoon, a feeling of sadness enveloped me. I waited for the news to find out about the fate of the children. My worst fears were confirmed. A number of the children had already died and a few who were rescued had their limbs amputated in order to be saved. The latest news I received on the sms alert was that the fatality stood at 12.

I wonder why these young ones who had lost either one or both their parents at an early age had to suffer so much. Could it be fate or destiny? Could it be karma? Could it be they were located at a bad Feng Shui location?
