RITUAL TO PERFORM WHEN MOVING INTO AN OLD BUILDING

sage

This post is in answer to a query from one of my visitors about what ritual to perform when moving into an old building.  In the case of my visitor, she will be moving to a new classroom which is in an old building.

What she needs to do is carry out space clearing.  In this way, she clears the space of the negative energy which had remained stagnant there for some time.  Performing this ritual will help to bring about calm and order in the old building and at the same time get rid of the negativities left by the previous occupants.
Also, when a building have been left vacant for some time, spirits and other unworldly beings might be dwelling there and so the space clearing ritual would also be a notice for these illegal occupants to vacate the premises.  This space clearing ritual would give renewed energy to the building and give it more life and vitality.
Here is a simple space clearing ritual one can carry out:
  1. First and foremost, give the old building a good cleaning.  Remove all the old stuff, get rid of the dust and any other rubbish.  Then use water to clean.
  2. Mix some rice, rock salt and Chinese tea leaves (can replace with sage) in a large bowl.  Add a bit of white wine to the mixture.
  3. Scatter the mixture in (2) in the old building which will be used as the classroom.  Make sure that all the four corners of the building is covered with the mixture.
  4. Then use a bell, a tingsha or a singing bowl to create sound energy to enhance the Qi of the place.  If you cannot get hold of a bell or a singing bowl, then you your own voice.  You can say a prayer or sing a religious song.
  5. The negative energy has been removed and you must make sure that there is a good dose of positive energy has been injected into the place. You need to declare your intentions for the new classroom aloud, e.g. let this new classroom be a safe and happy place for children to learn and grow.
  6. Focus on the classroom and other rooms that would be used for teaching to make sure that the only positive and good vibes surround the place.
  7. By removing the old and stagnant Qi from the building, one has balanced the Qi so that the new occupants would be able to carry out their daily activities with more ease.
  8. After the Space Clearing ritual, the new classroom in the old building will be:-

  • a peaceful and harmonious place for the teacher and her pupils;
  • a place where the occupants will feel safe and secure;
  • be a place where one would love to come and learn;
  • inspire the children and the teacher to be more creative and productive;
  • support improvement in all areas of the lives of the children and adults.
