USING RAINWATER FOR CLEANSING RITUAL

It is raining now and I have called up a couple of my friends to collect the rainwater so that we could use it for Ritual Bathing and Cleansing.   Many would not be aware of it but rain water is useful in many different ways. This pure water from the heavens can soothe the soul and calm troubled thoughts, it can also help to heal the body and promote beauty and health in general.  Do you know that rainwater is an excellent conductor of spiritual energy? It is sometimes used to charge or cleanse  crystals and gemstones for healing.

How to collect the water
Rainwater for ritual bath or cleansing must be properly collected in such a way as to prevent the water's contact with contaminating surfaces, such as most roofing material, unpolished stone, and most organic matter.  One must remember to collect the rainwater using clean containers.   Do not use the buckets or pails that have been used to wash clothes.  Likewise, containers that have been used for food should not be used as well.  Remember to let it rain for a while first before collecting the water as there might be impurities when it first starts to rain.
In the above pictures, the porcelain container I used to collect the rain water is new.  It is a gift from Khairah.

RAINWATER FOR CLEANSING RITUAL
Many people here in Malaysia believe that a Ritual Cleansing Bath will put an end to adverse conditions and open the way for Luck, Love, Money, and Happiness to enter their lives. In Malay this is referred to as "Buang Sial" or getting rid of bad luck. The oldest ritual baths and cleansings involve pure water (e.g. fresh running water, rain water or sea water). Most of the time decoctions are made from pure water which have been added with salt, minerals, herbs, roots, and tree barks.
