This is a bowl of spinach (bayam) with century eggs (上汤菠菜/苋菜) which I had for lunch at the Marpoh Restaurant in Ipoh. The soup served at this restaurant is clear and has century eggs but no salted ones. I really love eating this soup as it doubles as a broth as well as a vegetable dish. Yummy! Yummy!
I checked some sites in the Internet for the recipe but found that they used anchovies for the soup. The soup served at Marpoh uses dried scallops instead which makes it all the more delicious.
