PORRIDGE FOR BREAKFAST

My mum and aunt like eating Jook for breakfast.  In Cantonese it is referred to as Jook but in English we refer to it as porridge or congee.  Jook has a long history of use as dietary therapy.

As it is soft and easily consumed it makes great baby food. Ingredients like mashed carrots, blended veges and white fish are added to the Jook to increase the flavour and increase the nutritious value.  Besides babies, the old folks also like it as it is soft and can be easily eaten by them as well.
