FIRST VIRTUE IN CHINESE CULTURE

In Chinese culture, filial piety is considered the first virtue.  It is also a common belief that those who are filial to their parents would find it easy to make a living for they will be blessed by the Powers from above.
Yesterday, I did a post about how filial a son Jerry Yan was to his mother and wondered how his mum looked like.  I guess that would be something very difficult because I read in a news article that one of the most important things to him is to protect her privacy and afford her a peaceful existence.  That is why, there has not been any pictures of him with her as Jerry has declined to attend all events requiring him to appear with his mother. It seems that only their old neighbours, friends and relatives know his mother's identity.  Wah! So secretive.
By the way, the lady with him in the pictures above are that of an actress, Lui Rui Qi, who acted as his mother in the drama, "Starlit".  There were news reports that he hit it off with her and they had a good mother and son relationship, on and off screen.  I think this guy has great respect for his elders.
