USE AN AUSPICIOUS COLOUR

I asked my friend, Kamariah, to go with me to the handicraft shop to help me choose the flowers to make the floral decorative piece for Eric's new shop.  Know what?  When the proprietor of the shop placed a blue coloured congratulatory card on the floral decor, Kamariah asked him if he had a card which is red or pink as she mentioned that Chinese like red for auspicious occasions.  The colour blue is not really considered too auspicious for an opening ceremony.  You see, in Malaysia the different races have knowledge of each others' cultures and when buying gifts, they would make sure to choose an appropriate one.

I went home and made my own congratulatory card with strawberry borders.  The card is cream in colour and the strawberries are red and green.  How is that for auspicious?
