TRICOLOUR CALICO CAT

I first saw this pretty young cat with three colours on its coat a couple of weeks ago. At that time one of the school cleaners was patting it on its head near the school Herb Garden. I again saw this cat today running out from the Herb Garden and heading to the Guard House.
I asked the school guard if the cat belonged to him and he said that he and the other guards feed it and look after it. It was sort of the pet of the guards. The cat's name is "Bu" which is short for "Ibu" meaning mother in the Malay Language.
It was later when I did a search on the Internet that I found out that Bu is what one calls a calico cat, one that has distinct patches of white, black, and orange. Bu caught my interest because it had three colours which was quite rare for cats.
I also found out that Calicos are considered to be very auspicious cats among different cultures around the world. The Japanese believe that having a calico cat in the house would bring good luck to its owners, and a tricolour calico cat protects sailors from harm if the calico is present on a ship. In the United States of America and the United Kingdom, Calico cats are considered as Money Cats and male calico cats are considered to be even luckier than female calicos as male calicos are rare and sterile.
Wah! I played with Bu this morning. Hmm ... maybe some of the good luck rubbed off on me. Kee! Kee! Kee!
