RAIN CHAINS AND FENG SHUI

My school technician was checking the rain chain in one of the buildings when this picture was taken. Some of you might not be too familiar with what I am talking about. Let me enlighten you. A rain chain is a decorative item that you can place on the outside of your home or in your garden. What it does is it funnels rainwater down to a ceramic bowl, a decorative rain barrel or simply a water container. The one in my school is the traditional chain links. However there are fancy ones that consist of decorative cups or trinkets that catch the rain like some below.

It seems that when the rain runs down the cups, a melodious sound is produced which is highly pleasing to the ears.

Rain chains and Feng Shui

Some Feng Shui practitioners believe that a copper rain chain can help improve the flow of energy and can improve a person’s chi. This has to do with the melodious sound that results when rain runs down the rain chain. It definitely doesn’t hurt to have positive energy flowing around. As human beings, we can take every bit of positive energy that we can get and that’s what rain chains do for people.
