In China and other places where there are Chinese settlements, lanterns are used to "start the new year" off by bringing prosperity into ones home. These lovely lanterns were being sold at a market in Ipoh. Note the very auspicious dragon frames, tassels with 'jade' beads and bamboos painted on it.
