PRONE TO BLOODSHED

I couldn't help but feel sorry for the guy in the picture above and also worried that what happened to him could happen to anyone of us.
According to the news report in the Star newspaper today, this 24 year-old mechanic lost control of his car when he slammed on his brakes when the car in front of him braked suddenly. His car then crashed into three motorcycles that were parked nearbly. An angry mob of 20 people then surged towards him, smashed the car window and dragged him out and then assaulted him with helmets, rocks and sticks. One of the attackers then pretended to be a policeman and demanded for his Identity card. He then tried to snatch the wallet and also demanded that he victim hand over his handphone and wallet. When he refused he was further beaten up. The mob then overturned his car. Thank goodness a police car arrived after that.
This is really scary, isn't it? I hazard to guess that the owners of the three motorcycles that the victim crashed into were part of the mob and the rest were his cronies. Bashing a man up because he accidentally crashed into their vehicles is an act of violence. Imagine if the victim had died, then they would all be imprisoned for manslaughter.
If you want to read the story in detail then go to:
For my foreign visitors, let me assure you that in general the majority of Malaysian road users are non-violent. In fact, one will find many people who would stop to help victims of an accident.
I wonder what made the attackers react in such a way? Also I do suspect that the victim could be encountering a period when his luck is at his lowest. Since he is 24 years old, I would assume that he was born under the zodiac sign, Ox. Coincidentally, the religious teacher of my school whose vehicle was involved in an accident where one of the passengers was killed was also born in the year of the Ox. The 12-year old victim who died was also an Ox. Last week, the windscreen of another one of my Ox born colleagues was also smashed. According to the astrological forecast for the Ox this year, they are especially prone to accidents and injury since they are offending Tai Sui.
