SHOES FROM OLD TYRES

The above picture shows 4 men who are warriors from the Maasai tribe in Africa. This picture was taken when they were taking part in the London Marathon in April last year. While the rest of the runners were in sports shoes and clothings, our friend from the African continent wore their traditional garment complete with sticks and shields. Ah ... then there were their shoes which were recycled from old tyres. By the way they trained for the event by chasing lions in their home country. The reason they took part in the marathon was to raise funds for life-saving water supplies in their village. So they did it for a noble cause and not for the glory nor the attention.
