Saloma was a famous Malaysian songstress and actress in the sixties and seventies and she made famous the fan-sleeved baju kurung. Nowadays there is a revival of Saloma's fashion. I spotted the baju kurungs with these type of fan-shaped sleeves at many of the stalls when I was at the Farmer's market.
