Every weekend when I go back to Ipoh I will not fail to order a plate of Char kway teow as it is one of my favourite hawker stall dishes. For the information of my visitors from other countries, Char kway teow is "stir-fried ricecake strips". It is a popular noodle dish in south-east Asian countries. The noodles or hor fun is fried with light and and dark soy sauce, chilli, whole prawns, cockles, bean sprouts and sometimes Chinese chives or kucai.
