The Chinese believe that eating noodles on ones birthday is a symbol of longevity. It is hoped that the lifespan of the birthday boy or girl will be as long as that of the noodles.
So each year, we make sure anyone who is having a birthday will get to eat noodles. My mum, aunt and I had the noodles for breakfast at a Dim Sum restaurant in Ipoh. Later I treated the two of them to a meal at KFC Fast Food Restaurant.
