HERBAL DRINKS

Every Wednesday, the library teachers and librarians would sell herbal drinks during recess time as one of the activities to promote herbs for health and medicinal purposes. Here are 4 types of drinks that we sold today. The drinks were prepared by the teachers and staff of the library. Drinking herbal concoctions is even more important nowadays with the outbreak of the Influenza A Virus and also the hazy weather condition.
Keremak Merah (Alternanthera sessilis) can help reduce cholesterol in the body and also regulate blood flow.
Pink Guava Juice has a high dose of Vitamin C and is great for healthy eyes, skin and heart. The high fiber content in Guava acts as an excellent detoxifier by aiding smooth passage of stools, thus preventing constipation.
Luo Hon Kuo (Siraitia grosvenori) drink helps to reduce coughing and supposedly aids longevity.
Mixed Fruit Herbal Drink helps to reduce heatiness in the body and is good for the skin. In Malay, they say it can help to 'awet muda' (maintain youthfulness).
