APPLES FOR PEACE

In 2004, my mum became very ill and was hospitalised for no less than 9 times. The doctors kept saying that there was not much wrong with her physically and that she was imagining all her illnesses because she wanted attention. I was at my wits end. I was willing to try anything and everything to make her well. That was when I discovered how potent Feng Shui could. Being Chinese, this Feng Shui or geomancy thingy had always been a part of my growing up but I hadn't really been so into it until I found that the Flying Stars and inauspicious positions in my house were what caused my mum to be ill. I rearranged my mum's sleeping position, put lots of cures to contain negative stars and also threw away lots of unwanted stuff. Of course, it worked. After that I was hooked on this Science of the Environment.
Seeing my mum improving and becoming more cheerful and healthier each day were my greatest rewards for learning about Feng Shui. I bought my mum a mini apple plant at the end of 2004 as I read that apples symbolise peace and safety. To have such a plant in the garden would sort of give good positive vibes to the household. Initially, the plant was in a big flower pot but as it did not bear fruits or flowers my mum planted it on the ground and it grew and grew. The tree has borne fruit a few times but stopped bearing mini green apples for a couple of years. However, my mum's tree has started bearing fruits again. Hmm ... could it be that something good is going to happen to us? I am keeping my fingers crossed.
Here is more info about how the apple is perceived in Feng Shui:
  1. In Feng Shui, apple represents romance luck, love luck, social and interaction luck, recognition luck and a harmonious family.
  2. Apple is pronounced as "peace fruit" in Chinese. To have a bowl of apples would symbolise harmonious, healthy and rich relationships.
  3. Some Feng Shui practitioners believe that placing apples around the house will bring in energy flows for harmony in the room.
  4. Red apples symbolise health, peace and harmony.
  5. It is believed that placing a plate of fresh red apples in the centre of the home, on the coffee table or the dining table will dispel the negative chi or energy forces responsible for arguments and disagreements amongst family members.
  6. Displaying green apples will help to improve family relationships.
