FENG SHUI RITUALS TO FIND A LIVEABLE HOME

A couple of weeks ago, Spring wrote in to ask me if there were any rituals to find a suitable home. Well, I did mention that the easiest way is to bring along a child to the place that one is thinking of renting or buying. Look at the reaction of the child when he or she is at the place. If the child cries then the place is not suitable. If the child plays there happily or feels happy, then go ahead and sign the papers. If possible, the child should preferably be a boy since they have yang energy. I don't think I would have much problems getting children to act as human barometers should I ever consider buying a house. In the above pictures, my friend Baz has a little girl and my other friend, Rosni has two boys. I could bring all of them plus their mums along.

The other Feng Shui rituals are actually common sense. Here are some Feng Shui principles to follow when buying a house.
  • Drive to the prospective house at different times of the day and week and check out the situation. Look at the traffic, the kinds of cars parked in the neighbourhood, the noise level and be aware places of worship, stores and factories. Look at the telephone poles, electric pylons which also have the electrical supply lines attached to them.
  • Check to see if there are there large electrical transformers around the house, large power stations or high-tension electrical supply lines? If yes, then it is not advisable because the electromagnetic energy might be bad for your health.
  • Recall whether you enjoyed driving to the house? Did you feel happy and peaceful when you were there? If yes, then you should consider buying the house.
  • Check to see if there are any poison arrows directed at the house. If yes, then see if they could be removed. If they could not, then try looking at other houses.
  • If the house is not newly built, then you need to ask the neighbours why the previous owners wanted to sell the house. Was it because of a divorce? Was it because someone died in it? Was it because their business went bankrupt? Was it because they lost their jobs and could not afford the house? If yes, then don't buy. But if the owners moved because they wanted to get a bigger house or they got a promotion or they are moving to another state. Then you can consider buying it.

Anyway, it really boils down to how one feels when looking at the place. If there is a sense of peace and calm when entering the house. Then it is a good sign. If one loved it the moment one saw it, then it is another good sign.

So happy house hunting. And don't forget to bring a child along.
