My friend Daniel MMS the above picture of his daughter, Umairah, to me after he saw the slide show of the little children on the sidebar of my blog. Now, I can add another precious little one to the slide show.
I am sure that everyone realises that babies have the smoothest, softest and clearest skins unless they are like Benjamin Button. On the other hand, quite a number of my students suffer from acne. It could most probably be because of their raging hormones or diet. One way to try to get rid of the zits and get clearer and smoother skin would be to detoxify.
Actually, one of the cheapest and most effective method of detoxification is by going on a fast like what the Muslims do. But if your will power to resist the temptation of food, then there are other ways. Read on to find out ...
JUICE FASTING
Drinking only vegetable juices, fresh fruit juices and water for three to seven days will effectively eliminate toxins while providing you with the vitamins, nutrients, minerals, and enzymes you need. You cannot go on this type of diet for too long and don't attempt it during a regular workweek, or you may not have the energy to carry your usual tasks. Try doing it when you are on holiday. One indication of when to stop and go back to eating solid food is when you are feeling tired.
HERBAL DETOXIFICATION
There are many herbs -- and herb combinations -- you can take to target specific organs. Most herbs can be found in powder, pill or tea form. You can even find detoxification supplement or herbal packages (most commonly for the liver) at most pharmacies and even some supermarkets.
DETOXIFICATION BATH
A detoxification bath is another great option; do this once a week during a detox program and once a month after that. Put ½ a cup of baking soda or sea salt in your bath water, soak for 15 to 20 minutes, then scrub your skin gently with a natural soap and a natural fiber cloth. The darkness of the bath water is due to the heavy metals -- mercury and aluminum -- that came out of your skin.
