EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED

I feel rather down each time I listen to the news or read the newspapers each morning. Even when I log on to the Internet, I am sure to be greeted by news of the worsening world economy. So much unhappiness, so much sufferings and such a lot of bad news. As far as the economy goes, it is a rather expected thing and would either worsen or become better but it is news like so many losing their homes and lives because of one calamity after the other that is very sad. These are the unexpected things that everyone fear most.
Imagine one Korean housewife, her mum and two children happily going around their house in America one moment and next we find that they have all perished because an aircraft had crashed into their house. Then there was this 58 year old Chinese lady shopper who lost her life because she fell onto the road after her bag was snatched. She was run over by a lorry and died on the spot. Who would have thought that crazy militants would randomly shoot whatever living thing was moving around in Mumbai. For twisted political beliefs, innocent people were gunned down. Then there was our deputy Education Minister who was happily playing a game of badminton with his friend and suddenly keeled over. He had died from a heart attack. And then there were these young children who drowned in the East Coast when the went fishing. Just goes to show how unexpected life is, right? And also how fragile. That is why I say that we should expect the unexpected. We do not really know what is going to happen next.
That is why I remind myself to learn to treasure each precious moment that I get to live on this earth. Actually, we don't really know when the Big Boss up There would terminate our visa here and we have to leave and so now I make sure I try as much as I can to enjoy life and the people who are near and dear to me. YOU should do that too. Okay?
