FLYING STARS XUAN KONG FOR 2009: ANNUAL AFFLICTIONS

On February 4th 2009 we enter a new Chinese year (year 4706th in the Chinese calendar), the year of the Yin earth Ox (Cow) (Ji Chou).

The 2009 Annual Feng Shui Afflictions:

The Three Killings - is a direct translation from the Chinese 'San Sha'. This yearly affliction is mainly in the east (52.5º to 127.5º). In 2009 the east is severely afflicted with the three killings and the inauspicious annual #7 red flying star so it is imperative that you do not undertake any form of noisy renovations or re-decorative work in this part of your house or office between February 4th 2009 and February 3rd 2010. Nor should you disturb the ground by digging holes, building foundations or conduct any maintenance work with any noisy equipment in this area inside or outside your property or garden. Apart from not disturbing its ground, there are two other rules you should follow regarding the Three Killings. Firstly, if you are moving your desk around this year, never sit with your back to this direction (east). Secondly, it is better to face (east) this direction, especially if this is one of your four favourable personal directions.
If your front door faces the east in 2009, place a pair of Fu Dogs (not metal ones) just inside the house looking outwards as protective guardians for the year.

Tai Sui (The Grand Duke of Jupiter) resides between 22.5º - 37.5º northeast.
Do not take this affliction lightly. Do not disturb the ground of this area at all costs.
Northeast facing properties with front doors to the northeast must be careful not to allow the doors to slam and do not renovate or dig in this part for 2009.

Sui Po (The year breaker)
Sui Po year breaker occupies the division directly opposite Tai Sui Grand Duke, which for 2009 is southwest (202.5 - 217.5). You should treat this area with the same respect as the other annual afflictions with no groundbreaking work, renovations or any noisy activities. If disturbed this area can and normally will cause immediate health problems especially for the elderly so please be very careful. If you have to carry out work or emergency repairs in the southwest place a six hollow metal rod wind chime between the building and where the work is being carried out and ideally you should contact a professional Practitioner to select an auspicious date to start the work.

The annual five yellow has flown to the north this year and because the north is associated with water energy this is not good and the reason why so many cures are needed in 2009. It is highly recommended not to disturb its position here with noisy activities, renovations or maintenance work. Houses with gardens or driveways in the north of the property should avoid disturbing the ground with major digging or building work. When disturbed, the Five Yellow can bring disaster, sickness, lawsuit and major loss of wealth.

Very interesting piece of Feng Shui profile. Thank you for sharing with us.
My office has two tables. The main one is facing the office entrance towards north which I place my computer and greet any visitors; while the other is beside the main one and it is facing east. I make use of it for any other purposes such as counselling my students.
Any advice for my 2009's undertaking?

Hi,
Thanks for the interest. From what you have described, you would be sitting facing north at your workplace. This is actually not too good for 2008 as you are confronting Tai Sui. Have you been having a lot of obtacles and challenges in your work this year? Or your career hasn't been going too smoothly? Anyway, this sitting position would be okay for the year of the Ox. If your table is in the south, then it'd be good as next year this sector is an auspicious one.
Cheers.

Thanks.
Will do as advised.
Honestly speaking, I don't know anything about Feng Shui, but just curious about its magic only. If you ask me how about this year, I'm quite comfortable, and of course, once in a while I do encounter some misery which I always take it with a grain of salt.
Good luck and good health, Miss Cheah.

Hi jiubo,
Since you don't seem too affected by sitting facing north, it could be you are not in your office most of the time. Since you mention you have students, I assume you are a teacher and would be in classrooms more. Furthermore, your animal zodiac might be having a good year. By the way, there's nothing magical about feng shui, it needs a lot of hard work and understanding, especially of the theories and principles. It sounds magical because there are those who wish to milk money out of it by giving consumers the idea that by using this activator or that cure, they'd be able to get lots of wealth or prevent an accident.
