Photo credit: Gagarin Cosmonaut Training CenterOur Malaysian Shuai Ge, Datuk Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor Al Masrie Sheikh Mustapha lent his celebrity to the Avon Walk Around The World For Breast Cancer (WAWBC) 2008 charity event which was held on 13 August, 2008. The 5,000 participants, who were all in pink t-shirts, walked for about three kilometres around the lake to demonstrate their support for the battle against breast cancer. It was also reported that about 50 breast cancer survivors also took part in the WAWBC 2008 event, organised by Avon Cosmetics Malaysia. The RM50,000 proceeds from the event was donated to the PRIDE (Pink Ribbon Deeds) Foundation, a charity body set to up to boost public awareness on breast cancer.
