SOME FENG SHUI TIPS

Here are some feng shui tips that I'd like to share with you here:

  1. Aquariums should only be placed in the living room, office and study, not in the bathroom, kitchen or bedroom.

  2. Parents should remember not to let their children sleep or study in a room located above a garage or below a toilet as this will distract their studies.

  3. At work try placing a dragon which is facing the window. This symbolizes the dragon 'chasing' his pearl and will activate career luck.

  4. If you a good night's sleep, do not place a dragon figurine or statue in your bedroom as it generates yang energy.

  5. If a snake enters your house or property and makes its residence there, do not injure or kill it. Instead you should try to catch and release it to instill good karma. One suggestion it to get the help from the fire department if you are afraid of snakes.

  6. Remember to open all the doors and windows in your home once a month to encourage good Qi to enter and this will drive out the negative Qi.

  7. Do not have more than one step to enter your home as this indicates that the occupants may have power but not money.

  8. Try to have doors and gates in your home that open inwards and be of the double leaf kind to welcome in auspicious Qi.

  9. Pictures depicting war or death, particularly the violent or graphic ones, should not be put up in the home (they should best be found in museums and art galleries). These pictures could be a source of excessively negative energies.

  10. When at work, if you must pile up files, have the pile behind you or at the side of you and not in front. A pile of front creates obstacles.

  11. Those who are in business, should remember to keep the area around the cash register clutter free. One exception is the placement of a collection box for charity, as this nurtures good karma.

  12. To attract positive wealth luck into your home or office, fill a Metal bowl with coins and precious stones then place it in the Northwest.

  13. Traditional Calligraphy is said to be imbued with the natural Qi of the artist’s painting strokes. Therefore handwritten calligraphic work is highly prized.

  14. Bamboo plants signify longevity and good health. So why not consider planting it in your garden and within your home in the East or Southeast sectors of your home.

  15. Do not place rooms, mops and other cleaning material in front of the house. They should be kept hidden in your home as these are said to attract negative energy and 'sweep away' good luck.

  16. As tea is considered a Yang type of beverge, you should try drinking it with every meal, especially so if a lot of hot and spicy food is consumed.

  17. Don't have a light bulb directly above your bed as this may generate too much Qi and make sleep difficult. If the bulb is there, then try shifting the position of the bed.

  18. Having trouble finding your keys? A small piece of jade tied to your key chain with a red string may help overcome the problem of being absent-minded. Do give it and try and see if it works.
