During the parade of nations for the Olympics opening ceremony in Beijing, members of the Chinese contingent were decked in the colours of the Chinese flag - red and yellow. The men wore red blazers matched with yellow shirts and the ladies had on yellow jackets teamed with red blouses. To the Chinese, red and yellow are yang colours which are very lucky and auspicious.The Chinese contingent was led by NBA star Yao Ming and Lin Hao, a primary school student from the quake-affected Sichuan province. Nine year-old Lin Hao walked ahead of the 1,099-member delegation, side by side with the 7-foot-6 basketballer, who was the flag-bearer for his country.
