AROWANA AND FENG SHUI

Quite a number of feng shui enthusiasts keep fish in their homes to boost their wealth luck. There are a few who keep the fish with the intention of warding off bad luck or evil forces. In the second case, black coloured fish will be used.
The red arowana is a popular "prosperity" fish. If the aquarium is positioned correctly in the house, the owner of the house and the other occupants will enjoy good wealth luck. The Chinese consider rearing the Red Arowana as a way to ward off of evil and also invite wealth and bliss into the household. There is also a belief that the fish would act as a substitute for the owner should anything bad happen. So if the owner finds that his prized prosperity fish had died, he would say that the fish has acted as a shield to protect him from mishap or harm (This also applies to some other types of fish as well).
