In olden day China, poverty was very common and the people often associated fat people as those who have more than enough to eat and were contented with life. Therefore to them fat equalled happiness. We could always hear the older people saying that they wished to have a fair and fat grandchild. Fat is denoted as being healthy and even until today many Chinese have the idea that fatness was a mark of prosperity, wealth and good fortune.
In my opinion, I don't think body mass is related to wealth. However much wealth luck we have will have to be decided on our Ba Zi, facial features and perhaps the feng shui of the place we happen to be at. If you go through any list of the richest people in the world or maybe your country, you might be able to find a mixture of fat, average sized and thin people occupying the list. How then can wealth be equated to fat?
See, when Chun was younger he was a chubby child but as he grew older, he became rather slim. If he doesn't show off his muscles by taking off his shirt, one might imagine that he is on the lean side. Look at Sir Run Run Shaw. He is very thin but he is very rich and so is the Casino King of Macao, Stanley Ho. He too is tall and slim. His Majesty, the Sultan of Brunei is also of average size and he is one of the richest men in the world. Likewise, Prince Charles is also very slim and he is wealthy.
My advice is to try to achieve a slimmer figure as it is healthier and aesthetically more pleasing. A slim person can move about more easily and the chances of getting certain weight-related diseases might be slimmer (forgive the pun).
