GARBAGE BIN AND FENG SHUI

Yesterday the principal of my school dropped by the library to have a look at the exhibition that we are setting up about the 12th general elections in Malaysia. After looking at the articles that we had put up, she also looked around the place to give some comments and ideas to make the place better.
She was rather pleased with what the library assistant and I had done but there was one thing that she commented on and that was the placement of the garbage bin to the right of the library entrance. What surprised me was when she said that since I believed in Feng Shui then the location of the smelly uncovered bin was bad feng shui and would have negative energy.
Before I forget, I must mention that my principal, Puan Siti Arfah Ibrahim, is a very well-read person and she keeps abreast of a wide range of issues around us. I was rather awestruck that this Muslim lady knew this particular feng shui concept. Anyway, it has been mentioned time and again that Feng Shui is a Science and not a religion and can be practised by anyone regardless of race, nationality or religion. So, really it would not be that surprising for her to be in the know about the bad qi that a bin full of rubbish would emit. Well, she relocated the bin the new position shown in the second picture and asked that the janitor place a lid on top of it.
After being reminded about this concept by my principal, I would like to touch on the subject of bad smell from garbage and the harmful shar qi coming from it.
We should be aware that negative feelings and events blemish the quality of our lives. One feng shui rule of thumb that we should practice is to surround ourselves with whatever makes us comfortable and safe.
On entering a residence, a feng shui master or even a practitioner would use their senses. This is the initial reading that is done. Is the place very hot, crowded, noisy and so on. They are looking for shar qi or negative energy. Shar is a word meaning “kill”. So when applying Feng Shui to your home, the goal is to remove shar in your environment.
One strong type of shar qi is smell shar. Smells that are unpleasing can affect the Feng Shui of your home. Smells that are pleasing, only enhance the Feng Shui. So take out the garbage frequently. Avoid any rotting fruit and vegetables. Keep in mind that you do not want anything negative but only positive in your environment. Take a critical assessment using your senses the next time you enter your home. If there is anything that smells bad or is creating a shar or killing energy, get rid of it immediately. Then believe me, you and those around you will feel much better and your quality of life will definitely increase.
